WORKSHOP
Two events have been organised in the framework of the PARADISO project in order to efficiently interact with individuals and organisations from all over the world, specialised or interested in issues related to societal developments and to ICT research. A precise expected output of these events was the thorough discussion of the draft versions of the PARADISO Reference document.
The first event, held on June 12-13, 2008 at the European Commission in Brussels, was a scientific workshop attended by over 40 experts, coming from all regions of the world (the attendee list is available here as a pdf file). To be noted: during the preparation phase of this workshop, many individuals and organisations kindly expressed their support to the PARADISO project: these supporting statements can be accessed here). The workshop succeeded reaching its objectives: providing delegates an opportunity to exchange views and to discuss the draft version of the PARADISO reference document. The agenda and proceedings of this workshop can be accessed below.
The second event, the "ICT for a global sustainable future" conference was held in Brussels on January 22-23, 2009 under the aegis of the European Commission and with the support of many international organisations. It attracted over 800 delegates from 70 countries. Detailed information on this event is provided in the Conference section of this web site.
